Where the Hyped Things Are


With all the hype surrounding the new Spike Jonze Movie, "Where the Wild Things Are", I just about jumped when I heard about the Maurice Sendak exhibit at the Contemporary Jewish Museum of San Francisco. I was surprised to learn of "the other story", as Sendak calls it, that is woven in throughout the majority of his works. This other story, illustrates his family's struggles with the holocaust and his Jewish heritage. I highly recommend this exhibit to anyone who has any interest at all in seeing the film or just in learning about a brilliant artist, who has influenced millions...
